REDUCTION OF SMALL VAGINAL LIPS

Contrary to what many women think, it is very common for patients to go to the office with their smaller labia increased in size, which they feel uncomfortable​​ when wearing tight clothes, low self-esteem or embarrassment when changing clothes, in locker rooms with other women. The purpose of the surgery is to correct the size of the lips, bringing it to a normal size for the woman.

RECOMMENDATION


Nymphoplasty or labiaplasty is indicated for patients who have hypertrophy of the labia minora.

ANESTHESIA

 

Typically, this surgery is performed under local anesthesia plus sedation. Sedation is important for the patient's comfort so as not to be anxious during the procedure.

HOW LONG DOES THE PROCEDURE LAST?


The surgery usually lasts between 40 minutes and an hour, it is a simple and quick surgery.

HOW IS THE RECOVERY?


It is usually calm, without pain, with only inflammation in the region. Local ecchymosis (hematoma) may occur, which subsides within 14 days.

HOW SHOULD I BEHAVE AFTER PERFORMING THE PROCEDURE?


It is usually not a painful surgery, except when there is a large swelling in the region, in which case analgesics are prescribed. However, it is important to follow some points:

  • Place cold compresses on the region for the first three days

  • Do not take aspirin for the next 14 days

  • Stop anticoagulants for 14 days after surgery

  • Avoid long, hot baths​​ for 21 days

  • Do not scrub the region

  • Avoid sex for 30 days

  • Avoid walking, exercise, and tight clothing for 21 days

  • Report to all post-operative appointments.

WHEN CAN I SEE THE FINAL RESULT?


As with most plastic surgeries, the final result appears after 6 months, however, 80% of the result is achieved in 2 months.

HOW LONG DO I STAY IN HOSPITALITY?


Most patients are operated on in the morning and can return home in the afternoon, as they are discharged on the same day. It is important to clarify that the patient will not be able to drive and must take a taxi.

CAN I RETURN TO WORK AFTER FOLLOWING THE PROCEDURE?
